Jorge Leger

About Me

Hi, I am Jorge Leger. I have a diverse business background and experience qualifies me as a Marketing Operations Expert. My knowledge includes working and consulting across marketing strategy, marketing operations, marketing automation, sales operations, content development, content marketing, content monetization, web development, design, sales and information technology as both an employee and consultant. I pride myself on being technical, strategic, and tactical.

I am well rounded.

I genuinely bring a well-rounded approach to any role within a marketing organization. I am continually working to keep myself challenged. One way I have accomplished this is by working in a variety of positions with diverse backgrounds. After graduating from City University of New York City College, I worked my way up in places, starting from non-client facing and later taking on positions that were utterly client facing. I have held positions with large companies such as Cox Enterprises and New York Magazine and have experienced significant amounts of success at each of these positions, as well as others. Small businesses and startups are two other sectors that I thrive in, as well.

Driving  efficiencies is one of my passions.

Those who have worked with me have quickly realized my ability to take a diverse approach to find the most efficient means to accomplish tasks. Being in a leadership position is one that I enjoy since I work well guiding others in directions needed in order to achieve a mission. I am not afraid to deliver honest feedback, even when my feedback may not be what a company would like to hear about themselves, but also have an action plan at hand to work towards achieving a desired outcome.

I am an innate problem solver.

My interest in technology can be seen through my problem solving approaches and has allowed me to take on roles at companies where I’ve been identified as the go-to person for any technology related issues or questions. I have the ability to troubleshoot issues and have self-taught many of the IT skills that I possess today.

I am passionate

My passion for my work shines through with each issue or project I encounter. I truly enjoy my work, and feel that my fulfillment shows as I perform each task with a level of patience, dedication and determination. My goal is to take any company that I work with to the next level, relying on your business goals and my wealth of knowledge to guide the way.

Finally, to put it simply: I care. I am patient, a people person and good listener. I pride myself in providing attentive, focused ideas and support to everyone I work with.

Command leads me to take charge. Unlike some people, I feel no discomfort with imposing my views on others. On the contrary, once my opinion is formed, I need to share it with others. Once my goal is set, I feel restless until I have aligned others with me. I am not frightened by confrontation; rather, I know that confrontation is the first step toward resolution. Whereas others may avoid facing up to life’s unpleasantness, I feel compelled to present the facts or the truth, no matter how unpleasant it may be. I need things to be clear between people and challenge them to be clear-eyed and honest. I push them to take risks. People are drawn toward those who take a stance and ask them to move in a certain direction. Therefore, people will be drawn to me. I have presence. I have Command.

When can we start? This is a recurring question in my life. I am eager for action. I may concede that analysis has its uses or that debate and discussion can occasionally yield some valuable insights, but deep down I know that only action is real. Only action can make things happen. Only action leads to performance. Once a decision is made, I cannot not act. Others may worry that “there are still some things we don’t know,” but this doesn’t seem to slow me. If the decision has been made to go across town, I know that the fastest way to get there is to go stoplight to stoplight. I am not going to sit around waiting until all the lights have turned green. Besides, in my view, action and thinking are not opposites. In fact, guided by my Activator theme, I believe that action is the best device for learning. I make a decision, I take action, I look at the result, and I learn. This learning informs my next action and my next. How can I grow if I have nothing to react to? Well, I believe you can’t. I must put myself out there. I must take the next step. It is the only way to keep my thinking fresh and informed. The bottom line is this: I know I will be judged not by what I say, not by what I think, but by what I get done. This does not frighten me. It pleases me.

Self Assurance

Self-Assurance is similar to self-confidence. In the deepest part of me, I have faith in my strengths. I know that I am able—able to take risks, able to meet new challenges, able to stake claims, and, most important, able to deliver. But Self-Assurance is more than just self-confidence. Blessed with the theme of Self-assurance, I have confidence not only in my abilities but in my judgment. When I look at the world, I know that my perspective is unique and distinct. And because no one sees exactly what I see, I know that no one can make my decisions for me. No one can tell me what to think. They can guide. They can suggest. But I alone have the authority to form conclusions, make decisions, and act. This authority, this final accountability for the living of my life, does not intimidate me. On the contrary, it feels natural to me. No matter what the situation, I seem to know what the right decision is. This theme lends me an aura of certainty. Unlike many, I am not easily swayed by someone else’s arguments, no matter how persuasive they may be. This Self-Assurance may be quiet or loud, depending on the situation, but it is solid. It is strong. Like the keel of a ship, it withstands many different pressures and keeps me on course.

I love to solve problems. Whereas some are dismayed when they encounter yet another breakdown, I can be energized by it. I enjoy the challenge of analyzing the symptoms, identifying what is wrong, and finding the solution. I may prefer practical problems or conceptual ones or personal ones, depending on the context. I may seek out specific kinds of issues that I have met many times before and that I am confident I can fix. Or I may feel the greatest push when faced with complex and unfamiliar problems. Again, it varies based on the context. My exact preferences is determined by my other themes and experiences. But what is certain is that I enjoy bringing things back to life. It is a wonderful feeling to identify the undermining factor(s), eradicate them, and restore something to its true glory. Intuitively, I know that without my intervention, this thing—this machine, this technique, this person, this company—might have ceased to function. I fixed it, resuscitated it, rekindled its vitality. Phrasing it the way I might, I saved it.

My Achiever theme helps explain my drive. Achiever describes a constant need for achievement. I feel as if every day starts at zero. By the end of the day I must achieve something tangible in order to feel good about myself. And by “every day” I mean every single day—workdays, weekends, vacations. No matter how much I may feel I deserve a day of rest, if the day passes without some form of achievement, no matter how small, I will feel dissatisfied. I have an internal fire burning inside of me. It pushes me to do more, to achieve more. After each accomplishment is reached, the fire dwindles for a moment, but very soon it rekindles itself, forcing me toward the next accomplishment. This drive brings me the energy I need to work long hours without burning out. It is the jolt I can always count on to get me started on new tasks, new challenges. It is the power supply that causes me to set the pace and define the levels of productivity for my workgroup. It is the theme that keeps me moving.

Strongest Behaviors

Jorge’s PI Pattern has a very narrow width, so his behaviors are moderate in their expression.

While moderate, Jorge will most strongly express the following behaviors:

  • Relatively formal, reserved, and skeptical of new people; requires some ‘proof’ to build trust in new people.
  • Attention to detail; follows through on tasks to ensure completion in general accordance with quality standards.
  • Operationally, as opposed to socially, focused. Thinks about what needs to be done, and how to do it well, and generally follows that execution plan.
  • Task-focused; he often notices and is driven to fix technical problems, cutting through any personal/emotional issues. In areas of interest, has aptitude to spot trends in data or figure out how complex systems work.
  • Relatively independent in thinking and action; often comfortable taking action without input from others. An analytical and private person.
  • Assertive drive to accomplish his personal goals by working around or through roadblocks. Communicates directly and to the point.

Jorge is an intense, results-oriented person, whose drive and sense of urgency are tempered and disciplined by his strong concern for the accuracy and quality of the details of any work for which he is responsible. His approach to any work he does will be based on thorough analysis and detailed knowledge of all pertinent facts.

Much more technically than socially-oriented, he has confidence in his technical/professional knowledge and ability to get things done correctly. With experience, he will develop a high level of expertise in his work and will be critical of mistakes made either by himself or anybody working under his supervision. He takes his work and responsibilities very seriously and expects others to do the same.

In relation to people, Jorge is reserved and private, with little interest in small talk. His interest and his energy will be focused primarily on his work, and, in general, he is more comfortable and open in the work environment than in purely social situations. His style of communication is factual and direct.

Jorge is a forceful individual with the drive to make decisions and initiate action. However, he is most effective when making decisions within his expertise, where he can predict and control the risks associated with the decisions. He will thoroughly analyze, and often avoid, discussions related to things he is less familiar with and, therefore, less able to predict and control the accompanying risks. When under pressure to make risk decisions quickly, he may delay or put off those decisions because of his strong need to find the “perfect” solution.

Management Style

As a manager of people or projects, Jorge will be:

  • Both broadly focused and tactically cognizant; his attention is split equally between goal attainment and quality assurance – getting it done – and making sure it is done absolutely right
  • Analytical, intense, and imaginative – a problem solver driven to perfection
  • Hesitant to delegate authority or details and when he does delegate his follow-up is close and critical; it is very difficult to meet his exacting standards
  • Slow to trust others until they have produced accurate, timely results consistently; even then he is cautious in delegation
  • Literal in interpreting deadlines; pushes his team hard to meet them
  • More focused on professional or technical results than on team building or collaboration
  • Private, reserved, and formal; offers his opinion only after he has mastered the information himself.

Selling Style

As a salesperson, Jorge will be:

  • Authoritative and assertive when representing products where he is an expert in product knowledge
  • Anxious to thoroughly understand any idea, product, or concept before bringing it before clients; heavily leveraging book knowledge and facts rather than thinking on his feet or ‘winging it’
  • Better at selling technical or specialized products than intangibles; he’s comfortable with and interested in technical information
  • Diagnostic in approach; he asks probing questions, ascertains the problem, and applies a solution proven to work
  • Vigilant about implementation details and how they will affect the sale; he will sell only what he knows he can deliver
  • Eager to discuss proven successes with his product as solid proof of reliability and integrity.

Management Strategies

To maximize his effectiveness, productivity, and job satisfaction, consider providing Jorge with the following:
  • Encouragement to express his own ideas and put them into action
  • Freedom from day-to-day pressure to make quick decisions outside his area of expertise
  • Absence of very close, critical oversight of his work
  • Opportunities to use his know-how and expertise in finding creative solutions to problems, with relative freedom from organizational involvement’s in doing so.

The Advocate has a strong drive and enjoyment to help others. These are serious students and workers who really want to contribute. They make good therapists, general practitioners, and ministers. 1% of the total population.

The INFJ personality type is very rare, making up less than one percent of the population, but they nonetheless leave their mark on the world. As Diplomats (NF), they have an inborn sense of idealism and morality, but what sets them apart is the accompanying Judging (J) trait – INFJs are not idle dreamers, but people capable of taking concrete steps to realize their goals and make a lasting positive impact.

INFJs tend to see helping others as their purpose in life, but while people with this personality type can be found engaging in rescue efforts and doing charity work, their real passion is to get to the heart of the issue so that people need not be rescued at all.

Help Me Help You

INFJs indeed share a very unique combination of traits: though soft-spoken, they have very strong opinions and will fight tirelessly for an idea they believe in. They are decisive and strong-willed, but will rarely use that energy for personal gain – INFJs will act with creativity, imagination, conviction, and sensitivity not to create advantage, but to create balance. Egalitarianism and karma are very attractive ideas to INFJs, and they tend to believe that nothing would help the world so much as using love and compassion to soften the hearts of tyrants.

Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness. ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

INFJs find it easy to make connections with others, and have a talent for warm, sensitive language, speaking in human terms, rather than with pure logic and fact. It makes sense that their friends and colleagues will come to think of them as quiet Extroverted types, but they would all do well to remember that INFJs need time alone to decompress and recharge, and to not become too alarmed when they suddenly withdraw. INFJs take great care of others’ feelings, and they expect the favor to be returned – sometimes that means giving them the space they need for a few days.

Combining a vivid imagination with a strong sense of compassion, INFJs use their creativity to resolve not technical challenges, but human ones. People with the INFJ personality type enjoy finding the perfect solution for someone they care about, and this strength makes them excellent counselors and advisors.

Seeing through dishonesty and disingenuous motives, INFJs step past manipulation and sales tactics and into a more honest discussion. INFJs see how people and events are connected and are able to use that insight to get to the heart of the matter.

Inspiring and Convincing

Speaking in human terms, not technical, INFJs have a fluid, inspirational writing style that appeals to the inner idealist in their audience. INFJs can even be astonishingly good orators, speaking with warmth and passion, if they are proud of what they are speaking for.

Their creativity, insight, and inspiration are able to have a real impact on the world, as INFJs are able to follow through on their ideas with conviction, willpower, and the planning necessary to see complex projects through to the end. INFJs don’t just see the way things ought to be, they act on those insights.

Determined and Passionate

When INFJs come to believe that something is important, they pursue that goal with a conviction and energy that can catch even their friends and loved ones off guard. INFJs will rock the boat if they have to, something not everyone likes to see, but their passion for their chosen cause is an inseparable part of their personality.

These strengths are used for good. INFJs have strong beliefs and take the actions that they do not because they are trying to advance themselves, but because they are trying to advance an idea that they truly believe will make the world a better place.
